Her Name Means “Praiseworthy”
Let’s Praise Her!
Born and raised in Cyprus, Antonia came to the United States to study at university. She knew no one, had no relatives here to help her chart her path, and yet was able to graduate with honors from Monmouth University in New Jersey. In addition to succeeding academically at Monmouth, Antonia met her husband-to-be, Keith, there. Antonia and Keith fell in love, married, and have since created a beautiful life in New Jersey, together with their three beautiful daughters.
Part of what adds to the beauty of Antonia’s life is her profound contribution to the community. Antonia’s nominator told us that Antonia has been teaching at the Greek school of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Township, New Jersey since 2013. “She began as a
teacher for various different levels and was instrumental in beginning a preschool class, which has thrived over the years. In the last four years, she has risen to co-direct the school,” her nominator gushed. “With her commitment and drive,” Antonia’s nominator continued, “our school has been transformed into a wonderful learning environment. Her positive attitude and drive have allowed our children to learn the Greek language, our culture, heritage, and history. She has instilled a Greek pride in each of our kids that is immeasurable.” Antonia firmly believes that every child can succeed, regardless of their background or ability. Her dedication to her students is evident in everything Antonia does, and her students’ learning reflects her faith in and commitment to them.
Antonia, THANK YOU for educating and inspiring the youth of your community, your colleagues, and us. Educators like you are the glue that keeps our community growing, developing, and progressing. Thank you for making our community a better place for all of us to thrive!
