Delivering Calm, Inclusion, and Wisdom
Father Christoforos Dymiotis has been serving communities in both his birth country of Cyprus and the UK for decades. Born and raised in the village of Kyperounda in Limassol, Father Christoforos moved to the UK in the late 1990s, where he and his wife raised their three daughters, before returning to Cyprus to serve as Dymes village’s priest for almost 10 years. In 2016, Father Christoforos and his family returned to the UK, and have made their home in Sheffield, where Father Christoforos co-founded the city’s Greek Orthodox Community and Church, ever since.
One of the most important concerns for Father Christoforos is ensuring that the church community remains welcoming and inclusive. Father Christoforos tirelessly supports any and all who seek spiritual and practical assistance. His nominator says, “Father Christoforos is full of Christian love for all, regardless of a person’s nationality, religion, or race. He offers his services to people and the community as a volunteer, without being paid. That alone shows his commitment and dedication to the goals of our community and his willingness to self-sacrifice.”
Father Christoforos’s nominator continues, “He is always prepared to go the extra mile to resolve any issues from the most petty to the most serious ones, always with calmness and wisdom.” The world could surely use more active expressions of calm and wisdom, and we are grateful Father Christoforos is able and willing to actively offer both to all who seek them. Thank you, Father, and καλό Πάσχα to you and your congregation!
