KLEOS

Effie Panagopoulos has earned her KLEOS. “Mastiha has 3,000 years of history and has never been mass-marketed outside of Greece,” Effie told us when we sat down with her to talk about her delicious and conscientiously made KLEOS. “I’ve been saying for years that mastiha will be the next açai. It just needs education and awareness to get there.” In addition to being created by the first Greek woman to establish a Greek liquor brand, KLEOS is distilled by Maroussa Tsachaki, the first known female distiller in Greece. LET THE SUN SHINE IN

“MARIA, πήγαινε και PRINT ME A FEW COLUMNS FOR MY SOUVLAKI εστιατόριο”

That’s how they made the columns for this Greek restaurant in Spain.

Or if you’re not feeling bright, colorful structures, how about this minimalist architecture by architect Sotiris Tsergas? This retreat makes us think of that commercial from 1978. Calgon, páre me makriá.

We are out and about, enjoying the glorious weather we’ve been having in California recently, AND we are continuing to help keep our loved ones, our community, and ourselves safe. We are still refraining from large indoor gatherings and when we do gather indoors with others, we are continuing to wear face coverings. We do not know what we may be carrying or how susceptible someone else’s immune system may be to whatever we might possibly transmit. Keeping our community healthy is a team sport.

Looking for some Greece Is the Word mugs, tees, hoodies, onesies, face coverings, and neck gaiters? Look no further.
