This edition is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Nick Vidalakis, who died this month on Saint Nicholas Day. Like Saint Nicholas, Dr. Nick enjoyed secret gift-giving. His charisma; curiosity; drive; and love of family, Greek Orthodoxy, Crete, and Stanford were impenetrable. May his memory be eternal.

A BOTTLE FOR THE BIRTHDAY GIRL
Effie Panagopoulos’s birthday was last week, but the incredibly passionate, smart, and fearless founder of KLEOS Mastiha won’t be mad if we all grab some birthday bottles from her website today. Send them as Christmas gifts to others or to yourself (we’re not judging). She won’t be able to come to all of our houses to celebrate with us, but she will be there in spirits. We couldn’t help it. We had to write that.
We spoke with Effie about Greece, growing up on the East Coast, building her company, and so much more. Make yourself a delicious “Never on Sunday” cocktail (KLEOS Mastiha Spirit, mezcal, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and fresh ruby red grapefruit juice) and enjoy our interview with Effie here.
